Diana Jarrar initiated Magic Dates in September 2016. She is a Palestinian refugee who grew up in Syria. She moved to Canada when she was 11 and then to Los Angeles when she was 19 years old. She graduated from California State College Northridge in 2010.

She ran a catering business that had a Mediterranean theme and then, she was a real estate agent for three years. She loved dates and those were her go-to snacks while growing up. So, she decided to start a business of her own that offers flavored dates.

Diane came on the show looking for an investment for her business. Diane needed an investment of $150,000 for 10% of her business. Diane shared her story and how she started Magic Dates. Diane also shared that she had helped the coconut girl, the company in which Mark had invested in 2011. Magic Dates had sales of $100,000 in the year 2019.

In 2020, she had made it to $136,000 and by 2021, Magic Dates touched the $175,000 sales amount. She shared that they had recently changed their packaging. Mark Cuban immediately replied that changing the packaging means sales are going off, he’s out. Robert  Herjavec didn’t find it a scalable business and went out. Daymond John said he had no interest or experience, so, he also went out.

Lori Greiner said she should go back to law school, but felt like it was crowded too and went out. Kevin O’Leary just left Shark Tank in the ocean. Kevin finds Diane very impressive and confident. Kevin O’Leary gave an offer of $150,000 for 33.3 % equity, which means demanding 1/3 of the company. Diane gave a counter offer for 20% equity, Kevin said it was a non-negotiable offer. Diane had no choice, she accepted the deal and took her check.

After the Show, Magic Dates had a huge sales increase. People go mad if they find any approved and healthy food item to eat which has sugar but it is sugar-free.

Diane had a deal with Kevin on the show. Kevin is an American Television Personality who is an investor and has supported and suggested Diane throughout the growth in exchange for 1/3 of the company. Magic Dates was launched in 2016, and had a rough period during the pandemic period, but it didn’t stop. Currently, they have various networks and book orders in hand.

During the pitch, they asked for a valuation of $ 1,500,000. Magic Dates’ price ranges from $4.99- $5.99 and it costs them $1.9 per unit. A monthly pack of Magic Dates costs them around $40. Magic Dates gives an extra 5% off on the subscription purchase order.
