Who owns HotShot Coffee?

It was a usual early morning, Danny Grossfeld was in search of hot coffee before his business meeting in Japan. Being unable to find it, he checks the refrigerator for a Cold Coffee but to his pleasant surprise it turned out to be a hot canned coffee.

The thought was embedded in his mind to start exploring ideas and eventually, after six years it took shape to replicate the successes of canned coffee in Japan. Danny had to spend approximately two million dollars for making his a invention reality. What happened next !!!

Despite the challenges, Danny did not lose hope and went on to develop the HotShot Drinks in combination with HotBox which can hold nine cans at a time and amazingly can keep coffee warm up to three months – isn’t that cool.

Did HotShot Coffee get a deal on Shark Tank?

Danny pitches the dream idea of hot canned coffee that took shape from his Japan visit and wants to make it a reality in the US too.

Danny sought investment of $300K for 10% of the business.  He explains the creation of ultimate convenience in hot coffee and shares it with the sharks. Once they drink they do declare that’s “really good” and also would have been very hot without his insulated label.

The Sharks were quick to evaluate in spite of 2 Million dollars was there any sales in the past 36 months this product was being developed. Danny explains that there have been great reviews but did not materialize into sales.

Chris Sacca and Robert are out as there were no sales as yet. Lori also seeks herself out as it’s true that there are other coffee brands in the market. Mark tries to think of placing in Landmark Theatres but he also steps out.

Danny could not seek any investment in the Shark Tank episode.

Danny’s efforts in realizing this invention were phenomenal as he had spent six years and $750,000 from his own money and another $500,000 from his friends and family. It was sad to note that it could still make it into the shark investments.

What Happened to HotShot Coffee after Shark tank?

Even though Danny had lost the deal but the hope was still there. He has completely overhauled his website (drinkhotshot.com) and announced that they have started taking pre-orders on the HotBox and would be shortly available in movie halls, malls “soon”.

They have expanded the market by producing Store machines that can store these Coffees and keep them HOT at the retailers.

The best part is in August 2021, Hotshot Coffee has its own hot boxes in multiple locations across the nation. Not to miss they are now available in Walt Disney World! With annual revenue of $2 million as a pleasant surprise.

The company business started with $750,000 and now grown into 2 million revenues in 2021. At the time of Shark tank appearance, HotShot Coffee was valued at around $3 million.
