Who owns ProntoBev?

Alexander Simone has begun his search in 2013 from his college days to get an instant chilled drink. It was not easy as his search continued for several years he tries his initial research with various trial and error combinations but it was not up to the mark.

With a lot of strenuous design changes and apt material inputs after thirteen prototypes, the idea of ProntoBev was born. Alexander did manage to get his first crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to seek $60,000 in funding.

This gave him more confidence and the young entrepreneur took his wine chiller to Shark Tank for seeking the required investment.

Did ProntoBev get a deal on Shark Tank?

Alexander went into the shark tank episode to seek an investment of $100,000 at 5% equity. He has the happiest day of his life by seeking a successful deal from the most renowned shark Mark Cuban at $100,000 at 20% equity.

The shark tank pitch was an exciting one as while he offers the chilled wine, Kevin clearly says the wine is at the right temperature. Kevin explains the wine market is a very proprietary market and needs more time to penetrate the market.

Kevin makes a straight pitch of $100,000 at 50% and expects a Yes/No answer from Alexander who now gets into a difficult situation and is being put on the spot. The real twist comes in when Alexander explains his Aerator in the meanwhile and Mark Cuban pitches into a quick offer of $100,000 at 20% which was a blessing in disguise for Alexander and he quickly accepts it.

Kevin is not happy but Alexander was fortunate to grab an offer from Mark Cuban for $100,000 at 20% equity and states it as the happiest day of his life.

What Happened to ProntoBev after Shark Tank?

Pronto Concepts have developed unique products and the secrets were also patented. Like the concept of cooling was patent-pending “pronto gel” beneath the stainless steel.

For every unit to develop, a cost of $22 was incurred and sold at the first attempt at IndieGoGo for $89. This idea does give great margins to the manufacturer and Alexander even wanted to step further, but he wants to sell them for $129 retail.

ProntoBev shark tank update

Sadly, there are regular updates on the Shark Tank blog as the deal with Mark never closed. Alexander hasn’t made a single product for IndieGoGo up till  June 2021.

Is ProntoBev profitable?

The world’s “fastest wine chiller” did get into a very slow start. Their design changes and prototype conversion into fully manufactured mass-production units have taken a few years and have been frustrating for its backers and customers who instilled trust in ProntoBev.

The company is holding its fort, as they are reassuring that the company has begun manufacturing in Dec 2020 with the latest adjustments and thanked their backers also for their patience.

The company has been aware and responding regularly to its customers with the latest updates.

ProntoBev deliveries were expected in early 2020 for preorders but due to Covid and the major factories currently shut down, the company is working hard to continue its manufacturing by the year-end and complete its promise to deliver the pre-ordered products.

Is ProntoBev still in business?

In spite of having pre-orders, the company is struggling to deliver its products during the global shutdown due to the pandemic. There is hope as the company is constantly in touch with customers and backers on their updates and is expected to relaunch the delivery of its products in 2021. Wishing them good luck to be able to deliver their promise…
