Slice of Sauce was founded by a Texas-based couple, Emily and Cole Williams. The Father of Emily stumbled upon the idea when she was making a barbeque sauce and instead of throwing its waste, Emily mixed and grounded them which resulted in form of slices of veggies and spices.
This is how the idea of creating it into a business came to their minds and their hard work and commitment made a simple ingredient to deliver the best flavors and ended up with a Slice of Sauce.
Did Slice of Sauce get a deal on Shark Tank?
Cole and Emily enter Shark Tank, looking for an investment of $200,000 for 10 % equity of the company. After the demonstration of the products, all the sharks were impressed with the taste of it but not with the price tag. Sharks felt that consumers wouldn’t give such a high price for it, also the company is at the pre-revenue stage, and other investors.
Duo shared that if they got the co-packed, they would be able to cut out the cost. All the sharks were not so much happy but Alex liked the product as it didn’t require refrigeration and gave an offer of $200,000 on a convertible note that when sales touch $1.8 million, they would give him 15% equity of the company. Emily and Cole didn’t take any chance with such a great offer and spontaneously accepted the deal.
What happened to Slice of Sauce after the shark tank?
After the show, it originally aired in 2021 and the exposure of the company was far better than the couple even thought of. Slice of Sauce is available only for pre-order on their own exclusive website. After the show, the deal made on the show was never closed with Alex Rodriguez and as of 2022, orders through their website can’t be placed. Also, there are no updates made since March 2021. It seems like it is not in business anymore.
Slice of Sauce used to make different flavors from the veggies. Slice of Sauce comes in two flavors:- Spicy Sriracha and Classic Ketchup. Slice of Sauce is made from no – GMO Spices and gluten-free with no artificial colors. Slices make it a bit easier to get the ketchup, especially during a camping and trekking trip.
Each pouch cost around $5.99 per unit. As of 2021, no updates and no order facility, the company is closed.
