Kurt Stange is the founder of Easy Treezy. Stange had completed his graduation from the University of Miami and made his first start-up during his college days. After his graduation, Kurt started his old business and started a new business identified as Miami Christmas Lights. Miami Christmas was doing great but people asked him to add a tree he had in his house, to which Kurt came up with a new business brand called Easy Treezy.

Kurt came up with an idea but manufacturing the whole was not possible, so he navigated overseas and finally launched Easy Treezy Christmas Trees. When the product was launched, they successfully sold all the units on QVC and also employed 18 people as a full-timer for managing their warehouse.

Did Easy Treezy get a deal on Shark Tank?

Stange entered the show in season 11, episode 9, on the platform of a shark tank, seeking the shark’s expertise and money. Stange asked for an investment of $400,000 for 10% equity in exchange. Stange explained the whole idea and used the process of Easy Treezy. Stange gave samples to the sharks for a better understanding. Stange shared with his sales figures that he is doing amazing, with $2 million in sales annually with a 35% profit margin.

Sharks were disappointed by the price and the statement that Easy Treezy lost an $8 million order from Home Depot, which was a setback for Stange. Sharks were impressed by the concept and sales but still, no deal was made. Kevin O’Leary shared that he is already in with a company called Geek My Tree and therefore he can assure that no one is/will be going to pay such a huge amount for a tree and went out.

Mark Cuban said the key to business is digital marketing and there is zero possibility to assure the shelf life of Easy Treezy and went out. Barbara Corcoran was shocked by the $8 million order laid down and therefore went out. Lori Greiner also pointed to the price factor and left the pitch. Robert Herjavec said he’d love the business and its journey, but the question about the valuation was not fair, so he gave an offer of $400,000 for a 40% stake in the business. Kurt Stange gave a counteroffer of $400,000 for 20% equity in return.
