Benjumin Fossey is the founder of Caddy Swag. Ben holds his degree from East California University in communication and media studies. Ben holds his past experiences as an account executive and as per his LinkedIn profile, he had been in charge of the firm full time from 2017.
Caddy Swag’s start-up holds a very interesting story. One day, before a golf match, a few friends were sitting in a hot- tub and were just talking about if there would be some cool bag packs, it will save their time and money to which Ben had an idea and after a year, Caddy Swag was launched.
Did Caddy Swag get a deal on Shark Tank?
Melissa and Ben came on the show in season 5, episode 6 in search of an investment of an amount of $60,000 for 20% equity in exchange for a valuation of $300,000. They came on the show with the modified golf outfit and base music. Melissa explained that there are two types of golfers. One who is serious about the game and the second who comes to have a good time with Caddy Swag. They have till now sold $15000 sales.
Daymond John quit immediately after hearing the numbers and said that he was not a golf enthusiast. Robert Herjavec is a golf lover and said that he didn’t think any golf ground allows us to have our own beverages. Kevin Harrington seemed very curious but said that they were not offering the right amount of equity and went out.
Kevin asked why he needed an investment to which Ben said that he needed it to buy 10,000 units of the device which cost $3 for each and the remaining funds for marketing. Barbara Corcoran said that she found the business scalable but they were not the right choice for investment and went out. Kevin O’Leary also left the pitch. No deal was made on the show and the pitch got closed.
What happened to Caddy Swag after Shark Tank?
After Shark Tank, getting no deal from there, Ben didn’t let his hope down and kept working with and for his company, and as a result, it is operating still in the market through online platforms. Caddy Swag also had a few appearances in talk shows after Shark Tank. Caddy Swag product Par six cooler was not able to impress sharks on the show but the same product managed to handle the growth of it.
Caddy Swag is a niche product as it is limited to golf only but later they found their space in big events, marriages, and special areas.
