Founder Story:

Born into a family of entrepreneurial spirit. Intisar Bashir had all the knowledge of running a business. Intisar Bashir and Rashid Mahdi saw that the bandages worn by kids would stand out and they decided to create a product to not let the bandage stand out. They first focused their product on adults and created adult bandages.

Soon they created bandages for kids. The two of them started off by introducing images of princesses and superheroes on the bandages which were not that popular then they started printing images of kids being astronauts and scientists. This idea led to a large increase in sales and today many kids send their photos to be printed on the bandages. For this business to grow and the owners want their children to take care of the business for years to come. They believe that the business is not only selling products but is actually making people in the back community comfortable in their own skin.

Did Browndages Bandages get a deal on SharkTank?

The duo enters the SharkTank seeking an investment of $75,000 for 7.5%. Rashid shows a normal bandage and says it doesn’t match his skin. The bandage heals you and lets the world see you rather than the wound. The sharks look at the samples. Kevin and Daymond have questions as to why other companies cannot do the same.

The bandages are available in two packaging tins and paper boxes. The tins cost $1.20 to make and the paper boxes cost $0.63 cents to make. The sales for 2020 were $135,000. From November 2020 to now they have had $50,000 in sales. Rashid aims to spread the product to schools, daycares, and hospitals in the country. Robert thinks the business is too massive to scale, he’s out. Kevin wants to license it, he offers them $75,000 for 15%.

Lori wants to go in with Daymond and mark. The two gentlemen agree and say that they want to offer $100,000 for 30%. Rashid counters for 7.5%. Mark says they are ready to give $75,000 as a line of credit. Kevin alters his offer and says he will do $100,000 for 15%. Rashid again counters and says $100,000 for 25% and a line of credit. They all agree. Rashid and Intisar have a deal.
