Who are the founders of Beardaments?

Jason McOmber is the founder of Beardaments. Jason started Beardaments as a side business and it turned into a successful Christmas business. McOmber had a beautiful and long beard when he arrived on the show. McOmber was at a party and when he drank too much he started decorating his beard. From there, he got the idea of turning it into a big business.

Jason works as a sales director for a company that gives daily training in the USA. Jason trains independent DirecTV/AT and T dealers. Jason also works as a Christmas elf in the nighttime. Jason started this as a side business but gradually kept increasing his product line when he found the immense demand and positive response for his Beardaments. McOmber started Beardaments in late 2015 and consistently takes his business towards growth.

Did Beardaments get a deal on the Shark Tank?

Jason McOmber came on the Shark Tank looking for an investment of $150,000 in exchange for a 10% equity in the business. Jason explained his product and demonstrated that Beardaments are decorated over the beard or mustache. During the pitch, the Sharks didn’t show any interest in the Beardaments till Jason revealed his sales figures, which made all the sharks more attentive to his pitch.  

Jason shared that they made $305,000 in 2018 and in 2019 they were forecasting to touch $700,000. After hearing their side of Jason, all the sharks went out one by one as none of them felt that they needed an investor. The shark suggested their best and he went out. In the end, it seemed that he was not going to get any offer from the sharks. Kevin O’Leary ( Mr. Wonderful) did something wonderful for Jason and gave an offer of $150,000 for a 25% equity in his business. Jason quickly accepted the offer and received his check.

What happened to Beardaments after Shark Tank?

After the show, Beardaments got huge popularity and the addition of customers to his website. After the show, the deal made on the platform was not closed with Kevin O’Leary. After the show, Jason got an opportunity to appear on the Good Morning America show along with many other publications.

During the pitch, they asked for a valuation of $1,500,000 and in the end, Kevin offered to lower the valuation to 600,000. Beardaments come in a 12-pack of baubles, and a 16-pack of light ornaments. Beardaments started with one segment but gradually added beard glitter, festive hair accessories for women, earnings, shirts, and sweaters.

The price for a pack of 12 is $8.99 and for a pack of 16, it costs $19.99. They are currently available and operating from two mainstream. One is their official website and the other is Amazon. Anyone can directly place an order for whatever pack they require as per the eve. In the beginning, the Beardaments concept was started especially for Christmas Eve, but with time its demand was turning to all the festivals.
