Sofia Overton, a fourteen-year-old ākidtrepreneurā from Bentonville, is the founder of Wise Pocket Socks. Back in 2017, she saw her cousin struggling to put her mobile phone in her boots because she did not have any pockets in the trouser. When Sofia tried the same, she felt that it was really uncomfortable to do so and decided to devise socks that can hold necessary items.
She raised $10,000 from a crowdfunding campaign she did through IndieGoGo. It was a good help to start her business and she earned $16,000 before appearing on Shark Tank. She just wanted some expertise and financial aid to grow her business and she entered Shark Tank for the same.
Did Wise Pocket Socks get a deal on Shark Tank?
Sofia entered with Wise Pocket Socks in season 11 episode 11 of Shark Tank. She demonstrated her product and the sharks really liked the idea and a teenagerās creativity. They were impressed with the revenue as well. Sofia pitched for $30,000 for 15% of the equity.
Lori Greiner and Daymond John offered her $30,000 for 33.33% and she countered with $35,000 for 25% equity. They accepted the deal and Sofiaās get one step ahead on the success ladder.
What happened to Wise Pocket Socks after Shark Tank?
The deal with Lori and Daymond came through and Wise Pocket Socks have been doing great in the market since the show aired. Wise Pocket Socks are available for sale on Amazon and other big online stores.
Sofia launched the Tweed and Hawaiian versions of the socks as well. She is also working to widen the range of products and she will pretty soon launch Wise Pocket Leggings too. It is safe to say that these trendy wears are going to stay in the near future.
