Squeeky Knees is founded and developed by 2 entrepreneurs called Ivan Barnes and Lisa Evans. Ivan invented Squeeky Knees in the year 2010 to protect the knees of their younger son. Ivan is a full-time employee and wanted a protective space and area for their little son so that they don’t get injured by tables, doors, and chairs inside the house also they wanted to know where their child was all the time, therefore they fixed a sounding instrument in it that creates a squeaking sound that helps them to know where their child was and that’s how they invented Squeeky Knees.
Ivan gets partnered with a company called “Right Back Babies” to design and develop their products after-sales them online. Later the partnership don’t take a long road and they alone started selling them online and distributing them to retailers and wholesalers.
Did Squeeky Knees get a deal on Shark Tank?
Squeeky Knees is introduced as a knee-protecting product for little toddlers in ABC’s famous reality show Shark Tank in Season-5 and Episode-19, owners represent their product and informed Sharks about that what their product is, what’s the idea behind it, etc.
They shows a video sample of their product workings and asked for an investment of $80,000 in exchange for 20% equity in their company. Sharks find the product interesting and want to know more about it Lori initially asked him about their sales figures as they told them they were able to sell over 500 units that make around $10,000 only. They are in business for the past 3 years but their 1st year is all gone in patenting and taking legal grants for their products. Later they spend 2 years establishing their business and started selling them online.
Sharks didn’t like their valuations and sales figures and some of them didn’t even like their products too. Kevin told them they don’t make sense in investing in their business as they don’t have any market for it. Later others told them they have very few numbers in sales after operating for 3 years as they don’t have any business sense, therefore all sharks backed them and they left without any deal in the show.

After the show, they receive huge traffic on their website as they get far more orders of their products as they sold in 3 years immediately after the show. But they are unable to handle that as their various items get out of stock and they don’t have the potential to maintain their inventory as their products are never been taken off. They suffer from various problems that cause them to shut down their operations in late 2017.
