Rolodoc Shark Tank Update

“Rolo Doc” is a digital platform that aims to revolutionize the healthcare industry. Founded by two emergency physicians, the company offers an online database of real-time physician schedules and hospital availability, allowing patients to book appointments and receive care more efficiently.

With a mission to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs, Rolo Doc is changing the way people access medical care.

RoloDoc is like Facebook for doctors and patients. RoloDoc is an application for patients to connect with doctors and inquire about medicines, schedules, and appointments.

Doctors and patients can communicate with each other immediately, without wasting any time. The application lets both parties communicate with each other effectively.

They can send texts to each other so that doctors help their patients whenever the latter party is in need. The app connects physicians, medical workers, and patients by being HIPPA-compliant and remaining safe.

Who are the founders of RoloDoc?

The brothers, Dr. Richard Amini and Dr. Albert Amini co- founded the RoloDoc application. They used to get messages and inquiries regarding post-operative medicines from patients on their Facebook handles.

They saw this as an opportunity to convert it into something profitable, financially as well as socially. So, they developed RoloDoc with the help of some software experts.

Both the founders had graduated from the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine in Tuscon. Dr. Richard Amini is an assistant professor at the University of Arizona Department of Emergency Medicine and Medical Centre’s ultrasonography director.

Dr. Albert Amini is a surgeon and works in critical care. Currently, he is a clinical teacher and hepatobiliary surgery fellow at Froedtert Hospital of the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Did Rolodoc get a deal on Shark Tank?

The Rolodoc founders, The Amini brothers, came on the show looking for investment and shark expertise to build their business into a brand. They pitched for $50,000 in exchange for 20% equity in the business.

RoloDoc’s explanation confused all the sharks sitting in front of them. Rolodoc is a concept where individuals can choose their doctor by themselves and securely share their medical reports.

Rolodoc Pitch starts @10:14

During the pitch, they shared that they had no patents in hand. The Amini brothers still don’t have any approval from doctors; they appeared on the show with a rubbish idea or thought as per sharks’ words. Mark Cuban goes out as he didn’t find it even a business concept. Amini Brothers failed to convince the sharks. Lori Greiner agreed with Mark and went out.

Robert Herjavec and Barbara Corcoran said they don’t have any proof that the doctor with whom they are operating is even a real doctor or not, which made them out. Kevin O’Leary did it in his style. He said ‘Protein doesn’t waste when death occurs’ and went out. All the sharks were out, no deal was made.

What happened to Rolodoc after the Shark Tank?

After the show, the pitch was not up to the mark. The Amini brothers could not convince the sharks that their idea was something unique to the various social media platforms already existing in the market. According to Mark Cuban, RoloDoc’s pitch was the worst one in the entire history of Shark Tank.

Not just the sharks, but the Amini brothers also realized that RoloDoc lacked potential. They eventually gave up on their idea of RoloDoc as they did not see any promising future for the app.

They left RoloDoc and proceeded to pursue their respective careers in medicine. This gives a lesson to other upcoming entrepreneurs to work hard on what they want from their start-ups.

During the pitch, they asked for a valuation of $250,000 but the sharks did not approve it. The current valuation is identified to be null as the founders are no longer in Rolodoc.

After the show aired, there was no positive response to Rolodoc as it had not even had strong approval from any doctors. The vision failed for RoloDoc because the founders themselves were not passionate enough to make the app work and that is why they could not impress even one shark with their start-up.
