Guesstimate Example # 10 | ESTIMATE THE NUMBER OF ONE PLUS USERS IN DELHI?

Q. ESTIMATE THE NUMBER OF ONE PLUS USERS IN DELHI?

Let us divide the population of Delhi into 3 parts based on their monthly income – Lower (45%),

Middle {Upper (20%) and Lower (35%)} and Upper (10%) class.

One plus phone being flagships ranges from lower 30 thousand to Upper 40 thousand. So, Lower class goes out of consideration.

Going to the Middle-class population, the possibility of a lower middle class getting a One plus phone is less, therefore, let out of 35% population let 5% have one plus phone and for the upper-middle-class out of 20%~ 5%have one plus phones.

This leaves us with the Upper-class people, out of the 10% let 4% have one plus phones.

Let the total population is equal to 2 crores,

Number of Lower-class users= 0

Number of Lower Middle-Class users= (5/100) x (35/100) x 2 = 2,45,000

Number of Upper Middle-Class users= (5/100) x (20/100) x 2 = 2,00,000

Number of Upper-Class users= (10/100) x (4/100) x 2 = 3,20,000

Total users = 2,45,000 + 2,00,000 + 3,20,000 = 7,65,000 Users
