Bizzneeti: National Level B-Plan Competition by NMIMS

The Fifth edition of Bizzneeti is coming up, organized by Colloquium, the Business and Management Cell of NMIMS University’s MPSTME. This national-level business conference opens the floor to people all over the country to battle their business savvy in the startup world in three comprehensive phases. These are set to trial their unique business ideas and conceptualization of a feasible business model to back it.

At its core, Bizzneeti aims to provide a platform for youngsters to seek exposure, interact and learn from a group of like-minded people with the unique opportunity to pitch their business to our panel judges and angel investors who will judge them basis the potential and feasibility of their idea to sustain in the real world. If you are successful in convincing the judges that your business plan has immense potential, is well-grounded, and feasible enough to sustain in the real world, you win cash prizes worth ₹55,000.

For the online conference, participants can register in teams of 3-5 people with the constraint of the age limit being 27 years.

Phase 1:

In the first phase of Bizzneeti, registered teams will be required to send an exhaustive document of about 8 to 10 pages by the 2nd of March with a well thought out business model. The privacy of your content will be ensured through all the phases of the event. Some of the key aspects that this document must include are initial capital/ investment, profit model and breakeven analysis, scalability, marketing, and outreach. The contents of the documents are not limited to the aforementioned aspects. The document once submitted will be scrutinized by our panel of esteemed judges and the teams will get filtered. Phase 1 will assess participants on the basis of the unique selling point of their concept, the depth of their research, and the way participants have utilized and brainstormed every aspect of business planning. The top teams will move on to Phase 2.

Phase 2:

During Phase 2, the selected teams will have to curate and display their vision and sustainability of their business ideas before the judges in the form of a Powerpoint Presentation on the 5th of March. This will serve as a further concretization of the minute details of their well thought out plans. The contents of the presentation must include but not limited to the business concept, analysis of potential competition, marketing plan, financial projections, and requirements. These presentations will be assessed on the basis of aspects like originality, plausibility, implementibilty, teamwork, and articulation of a vision and mission. Post scrutinization, the best of the best teams will get the exciting opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of angel investors during Phase 3.

Phase 3:

Phase 3 is a two-day extravaganza, on the 6th and the 7th of March, and is the grandest segment of the event. On the first day of phase 3, all the registered participants will be able to take part in several business and management related games and will be able to win exciting cash prizes. There will also be a session open to all participants where they will have the chance to interact with and learn from renowned industry experts this will give them the opportunity to widen their knowledge base and expand their horizons towards what the startup world truly entails.

On Day 2, the top teams, who made it through Phase 2, will now have the opportunity to pitch the business ideas in real time to a panel of experienced angel investors who will judge them on the basis of economic strategies, primary and secondary objectives of the venture, implications of ideas and engagement of the target audience. A further incentive to consider if an angel investor is appealed and interested in a business idea, he/she may choose to take his/her relationship with one of the finalists, this opportunity is not limited to the finalisists.

As a token of the organizing committee’s appreciation, every participant of Bizzneeti will be given hampers. The winnings of Bizzneeti will include ₹30,000 for first place, ₹15,000 for the first runner-up, and  ₹10,000 for the second runner-up.
