Did Zipit Bedding get a deal on the Shark Tank?
Hayley and Jennifer came on the show seeking an investment of $75,000 for 20% equity in exchange. They did a demonstration about the whole use of products for a better understanding of the business model. Hayley showed various samples and options they had in hand. Jennifer shared that they had applied for a patent but it is still in process.
To date, they have sold over 1000 units and earned $7,500 in just 3 minutes. They did this tremendous work when they got a television spot for 3 minutes, but expenses behind the sales were also too high. Robert Herjavec said ladies have a very clear vision and he is not the right guy to support their vision in the segment, so he’s out. Barbara Corcoran appreciated their passion and will but said she didn’t see any clear business plan and went out. Mark Cuban found them narrow-minded people and said he didn’t think they’d be good together and he went out.
Lori Greiner said she couldn’t believe the sharks and their opinion. Lori suggested they change all their business as they are putting all their efforts in the wrong direction. No deal was offered but they had two things to choose from: either disappointment or suggestion. What would you think as a reader choose?
