Bing Howenstein and Jim Grove founded All33 Chairs. Howenstein has a lot of contacts in the entertainment industry and is very well experienced in entrepreneurship. He is the CEO of the company but the product was created by Dr. Dennis Colonello, the team chiropractor of the LA Clippers with over 35 years of experience, and is famous worldwide.
Grove already has experience in popular, billion-dollar chair-making companies where he has helped design those chairs. The founders needed a shark’s help to get their final products imported from Hong Kong as they were facing issues in that area.
Did All33 Chairs get a deal on the Shark Tank?
Bing came on the platform of shark tank seeking an investment of $500,000 for 2.5 % equity in exchange. Bing explained the benefits and why one should buy all 33 chairs. Bing begins his pitch with a demonstration video of Justin Bieber branding his product. Justin said “If you want to sit, just sit in it.” the Sharks were very impressed by the Bing but any of them didn’t understand the ask for such a high valuation and its basis.
Mark Cuban came in front and said he didn’t want to invest in a chair business and went out. Barbara Corcoran said there was nothing new in it, it’s just a chair business having some additional features and therefore she took her step back. Daymond John said he had already invested in a similar business and, due to a conflict of interest, he is out.
Lori Greiner didn’t understand the high valuation and called it a hack and went out. Kevin O’Leary shared he couldn’t digest the valuation and went out. All the sharks were out of business and no deal was closed in the end.
What happened to All33 after the Shark Tank Show?
Even after not getting any deal at Shark Tank, All33 did not lose hope. All33 Chairs have gained more fame and customers after their appearance on the show. The popularity has worked in the brand’s favor and the founders now have many celebrities on their list that have promoted the brand, such as Cindy Crawford, Paula Abdul, and Dr. Travis Stork, and they have shown confidence in the brand’s promise to keep one’s posture in check.
During the pitch, they came up with a valuation of $20,000,000 and these numbers were indigestible for the sharks. All the sharks were stunned by the question of such a high valuation.
In July 2020, All33 added a doctor-formulated pain relief cream named Smooth & Move. They are breaking all the records of sales and the targets they have kept every year.
