Founder Story:

We all know the hassles when cleaning the house. A similar hassle was faced by Dakin in his own kitchen when he cleaned the scraps of food on the plate with the help of a kitchen sink sprayer.

He immediately got the idea to attach a sponge at the end of the tap. He went on to develop the idea and brainstorm with the other two members of the trio. This was how the birth of “The Scrubbie” took its place.

Did The Scrubbie get a deal on Shark Tank?

The universal scrubbing attachment developed by this trio almost felt as if they came unprepared. The trio was asked questions about their products by the sharks that could not have satisfying answers. Let’s see how it went. The trio came into the shark tank seeking 100,000 for 10% equity in their business.

Firstly, the sharks were shown a demonstration of the product which felt a lot like their competitor’s pitch. The logo was the first thing that the sharks caught and asked whether the logo was a brother to the scrub daddy logo.

They were hesitant to answer and didn’t realize the similarity. Next came the question of sales of the product. The three of them were taking their own sweet time to answer. Finally, the answer was to sell 13000 units which didn’t satisfy the sharks.

The final part of the pitch saw the company’s downfall. Lori was the first one to go out due to the similarity in packaging and font of the product title. Daniel is next to go out as he thinks they took a long time to figure it out.

Robert thinks they are not that hungry for a deal therefore he’s out. Mark is next to go out, and finally, Kevin says he won’t give them the $100,000. He’s out too. Sadly, the trio leaves with no deal on the shark tank episode.
