0

Q. How many people do you think to call Delhi Sarai Rohilla Railway Station as their primary workplace?

Assumptions:

No. of platforms = 5

Length of a platform = 500m

Width of a platform = 25m

Calculations:

Total width of all platforms = 5×25 = 125 =rounded to= 150

Vendors, Hawkers, and Peddlers are present every 10m on a platform

No. of Vendors, Hawkers, and Peddlers = 500/10 = 50

Since they are usually two of those together at a point we take

No. of Vendors, Hawkers, and Peddlers on a platform = 50×2 = 100

Total no. of Vendors, Hawkers and Peddlers = 100×5 = 500

Police and armed forces are present every 25m on the width of the platforms in groups of 3 people at each spot

Total no. of Police and armed forces = (150/25)x3 = 18

Station masters are 2 for each platform = 5×2 = 10

Supporting staff required is about 2 per station master = 10×2 = 20

Maintenance staff:

For platforms- 20 per platform(working in shifts) = 10×5 = 50

For Administrative Authorities- 2 per authority (working in shifts) = (10+20)x2 = 60

Total Staff working at Delhi Sarai Rohilla railway station = 500+18+10+20+50+60 = 658 =rounded to= 650people
