Who are the founders of Biem Butter Sprayer?

Biem was created by Doug Foreman. Prior to Biem, Foreman created two lines of healthy chips and dips named Beanitos and Guiltless. In April 2016, Foreman organized a Kickstarter campaign for Biem and raised $235K. He created it to ease the process of spraying butter without the use of chemicals.

Foreman promotes healthy food and hence, he created a unique product. Even when the Kickstarter orders were not fulfilled, Foreman seemed relaxed and decided to go forward with his business anyway.

Did Biem Butter Sprayer get a deal on the Shark Tank?

Doug came on the show looking for an investment of $500,000 for 5 % equity. He explained his product and completed the working process with the help of a video clip. Doug handed a bowl of popcorn to all the Sharks. Robert asked if there was any other sprayer or alternative sprayer, to which Doug replied ‘No’ and said he had two pending patents on the device. Robert asked about the valuation, for which Doug said he was forecasting sales of $100,000 units, which means a valuation of $10 million.

Lori tries to ask a question and Daymond John cut her off in the middle and put his bid of $500,000 for 17.5  % equity.  Kevin O’Leary jumped onto the pitch and gave an offer of $500,000 for 10% equity in exchange. Lori Greiner asked them if they could make two models, which included a high-end and a cheaper one. Doug said he was open to doing that, which impressed shark Lori and she made an offer of $600,000 for 20% equity.

Robert Herjavec also showed his interest by offering $500,000 in exchange for 10% equity in his company. After some discussion, Daymond John went out as Doug was being indecisive. When Doug tries to call Mark, Robert also goes out. Doug asked Lori if she could match Kevin’s offer and Lori agreed to go with the offer. Lori Greiner made it better by making it at 14% equity and they made a deal.
