Founder Story:
WYP Aviation was founded by Aaron Wypyszynski. Aaron graduated from Purdue with a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering. After receiving his degree, he worked as a pilot test engineer, assisting with the testing and modification of prototype aircraft to guarantee their safe flight.
He is currently employed with Dynetics as an aeronautical and flight test engineer in addition to being a founder at WYP Aviation.
Aaron’s passion for flying and professional experience served as the foundation for WYP Aviation. He has a craving for speed. Whether flying or hitting the slopes, Aaron is happiest, to quote a phrase, “going 100 miles an hour with his hair on fire.”
Did WYP Aviation get a deal on Shark Tank?
WYP Aviation produces the aerial sports apparatus known as Wingboard. A character from the animated Disney series Talespin named Kitscloudkicker served as inspiration for Aaron when creating the WYP Aviation Wing Board.
Kit had a technique where he would wakeboard behind an airplane. Although the wingboard is a little more intricate than the model included in the kit, the idea remains the same.
Entrepreneur Aaron Wypyszynski presented his innovative Wingboard design at the WYP Aviation Shark Tank and asked for a $500,000 investment in exchange for a 20% stake in the company, which was valued at $2.5 million.
At the time of the pitch, the Wingboard could only be used in wind tunnels or be trailed behind an aircraft since it was still in prototype mode. Though the idea was met with enthusiasm, the Sharks voiced concerns regarding the product’s viability and safety.
Although Aaron eventually left the Shark Tank without closing the deal, WYP Aviation gained a lot of exposure from the pitch and was able to showcase its distinct and aspirational vision for the future of aerial thrill rides.
What happened to WYP Aviation after Shark Tank?
WYP Aviation, although having a great idea and potential for fun, has not really taken off. Sadly, there is nothing positive to report on our WYP Aviation update. Their website indicates that they don’t seem to be in business and haven’t done well since Shark Tank.
According to the website, prospective customers can register for a queue to fly one of the boards whenever a location opens, and the company is now looking for sponsors and partners to get started.
But as of this WYP Aviation update, the business hadn’t posted on Twitter or Facebook since the first episode of their show aired in 2017. In order to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot through EAA’s course, Aaron is currently working with young children.
What’s the net worth of WYP Aviation?
When WYP Aviation debuted on Shark Tank, its valuation was $2.5 million. Their innovative Wingboard device’s market demand and potential are the basis for this valuation.
WYP Aviation has also continuously raised its yearly revenue. The majority of WYP Aviation’s revenue which floats around $3 million comes from federal contracts.
The company concentrates on designing aircraft rather than producing air sports equipment. WYP Aviation is not on social media, and it’s possible that the business may never break into the uncharted air sports market.
Is WYP Aviation still in business?
As of right now, Aaron doesn’t seem to have created any other products. The corporation, however, continues to function. WYP Aviation creates innovative aeronautical product prototypes, mostly for the government.
WYP Aviation’s ground-breaking Wingboard design has undoubtedly made an impact, even in the lack of any recent enhancements. The product’s thrilling qualities and potential to create a unique sky experience have drew in a lot of adventurers.
Even though WYP Aviation’s future is still uncertain, they are still dedicated to provide amazing airborne experiences. The failure of their Shark Tank pitch did not prevent them from making considerable money and pursuing their passion for aviation.
Although there haven’t been many updates on the company’s progress since Shark Tank, WYP Aviation is still well-known in the industry. Their flagship product, the Wingboard, has helped them build a reputation for giving fans all around the world an unforgettable and heart-pounding experience
