Have you observed the time-on-time changing trends in fashion? Well, fashion is one of the elements that keeps on upgrading itself in the ever-fast changing world.
A smaller yet bigger part of the fashion world is what goes onto your neck, your hands, or maybe even your fingers. You of course might have understood what I am talking about. The ornamental Jewelry.
Litter Jewelry is a line of handcrafted body Jewelry based in Francisco and started in 2009. This Jewelry business includes designs of Jewelry starting from headbands, elbow chains, forearms, thumb holsters, delicate torso harnesses, shoulder pieces, leg chains, and many more.Â
What makes them attractive is that they are made of elegant vintage findings that also make them eco-chic. The Litter Jewelry has boutiques all over the world, in Kuwait, Australia, London, and other cities too. But the most intriguing question that arises is, why Litter? It is because it is made from day-to-day objects, like thrift shops or maybe even trash. It is made from broken, or vintage material.

Founder Story:
Mackenzie Burdick and Rachael Mann, a sister duo from Francisco are the founders and the designers of the brand. Surprisingly, neither of them holds a background in Jewelry design, but in Interior and Fashion design. But as they say, all it takes for you to create your space and name in the design world is a fashionable mind.
The brand was started when Mackenzie was in search of a Jewelry piece for a party and made a headpiece by dismantling a necklace. When this headpiece of hers outshined at the party, the sisters produced around fifty copies of the artwork and sold it at a local trunk show. Selling out of all the pieces led to the foundation of Litter Jewelry. Since then they worked with many celebrities and have been featured in fashion magazines and shows.
Did Litter Jewelry get a deal on Shark Tank?
Yes, Litter Jewelry did get a deal on Shark Tank. They pitched their idea and sought $80,000 for 51% of the company. Though the two sisters provided a creative aspect to the brand they lacked the manpower, funding, and marketing that are required to grow the business.
The sharks were quite impressed with the designs and were all ready to pitch in for the investment. Daymond being a fashion expert offers a deal to the table, where he will own 70% of the company in exchange for $80,000, to make the deal a little appealing to the sisters he offers them to give salaries.
Mark jumps in to partner with Raymond and offers to assist in the website development while Daymond will look after Marketing and distribution. Barbara doesn’t stand a chance to make an offer and Litter accepts the deal.
