Dude Wipes is founded and developed by a team of entrepreneurs called Sean Riley, Brian Wilkin, Ryan Meegan, and Jeff Klimkowski they successfully operate their company called Dude Products.
Riley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Meegan has a Master’s degree in Marketing, Klimkowski holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and Wilkin holds a Master’s degree in Finance.
The idea to invent Dude Wipes come when the Original Dudes were in college; they used baby wipes in the form of toilet paper. They want to find a solution for their problem and researched that as they realized that there wasn’t a wipe being manufactured for adult males. Backed in the year 2012, they produced their first products and tries to introduce them in the market and they all are promptly sold out.
Did Dude Wipes get a deal on Shark Tank?
Dude Wipes is introduced as a Men’s Hygiene Essential product in ABC’s famous reality show Shark Tank in Season-7, Episode-4, The owner’s introduced their product as a replacement for Toilet Paper with their specially designed wipes for men that are very gentle and soft to all types of skin types, also, it contains Vitamins and Aloe Vera in it. That’s approved by Doctor.
It is based on Non-Woven technology that is patented by them, also, they are 100% biodegradable, flush friendly, and unscented. They gives their samples to sharks and asked for $300,000 in exchange for 10% of the company. Sharks found the product interesting and asked for his sales. As they did $300,000 in sales this year till the show and are projecting to $1.6 Million this Year. Also, they collaborated with Kroger Retail to list their products in 1,500 stores with a 40% of margin.
Sharks like the product and want’s to give him an offer except for Lori who didn’t like their valuation and they backed him. Robert firstly offer him $300,000 for 25%, Kevin also joins Robert’s offers, but they countered them for 20% and asked Robert and Kevin to split this deal.
Later Kevin offer him $300,000 But for 30% separately and Robert backed himself. They are going to accept Kevin’s offer but Mark offer’s him 25% and they accepted Mark’s offer. That’s how they get a deal on the Show.
What happened to Dude Wipes after Shark Tank?
After the show they receives a massive hike in their sales as the first year after Shark Tank, they made $3.2 Million in sales and there’s no stopping after that. They did a deal with Walgreens and they listed their products in over 7,300 stores combined now. They also did a deal with Target. Also, they started selling them in various other parts of the country. Increasing their sales also reduces their cost of manufacturing as prices of the product dropped to $5.79.
In the year, 2020, they did record-breaking sales as people scooped up Dude Wipes as the peoples are more curious about their hygiene because of the pandemic they replace all traditional toilet papers. As of August 2021, their annual revenue is $70 million.
In November 2021, their sales are touched up to $1.4 Million per week. Their total sales are $120 Million till they get introduced in the market. They build a 200,000 sq. foot warehouse. Today, Dude Wipes are available in over 15,000 retailers including Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Amazon. They are currently the 2nd largest selling wipe in the USA, But they want to be number one and take their products worldwide.
