Founder Story:
Mark Aramli our inventor was from the NASA Spacesuit program and has worked on building their cooling and climate systems to apply on their suit in the most difficult environment in outer space. He brought this learning to his everyday life issues of how this technology can be applied to our bed to make it cool or hot in a few seconds.
BedJet is a cooling and heating system that works on our bed to make it cool or warm with the help of a remote. This system can be tailored for dual purposes to keep one person warm and another cold as per their individual needs.
What is BedJet?
Bed Jet is a high-tech, customizable climate comfort system that allows you to control the temperature of your bed, either heating it up or cooling it down with the touch of a button.
BedJet patented technology ensures that your entire bed is covered with a consistent temperature, and our easy-to-use app allows you to control the temperature right from your phone. With Bed Jet, you’ll never have to settle for a mediocre night’s sleep again.
Did BedJet get a deal on shark tank?
Mark Aramli presents his magnificent invention story of BedJet which resolves the idea of keeping a temperature-controlled bed in a few seconds and not investing in the whole room. Mark makes a pitch for $250,000 for 10% of his company.
Mark demonstrates his technology in which you can control the bed using a remote or even an app to manage the mode and temperature. Mark and Lori are the first ones to try the bed, while Mark feels the cool air and questions how the system works. Aramli explains the system which uses a single sheet cover to make the cool air pumped into the bed. Lori on the other side feels it warm.
Kevin enquires about the sales, and Aramli explains that the product will be complete in six months. Kevin is clear there have been no sales and complains that the price of $500 per unit is very expensive and he is a pig as the business will fail.
Lori is agitated that Mark Aramli did not respond to her point and ignored her and reacts by stating she is out. Mark Aramli politely apologizes and ask if she would mind asking the question again and she rejects the point and reiterates she is out.
Mark explains that he is still not convinced if the systems and product are aligned in the way they work as Mark Aramli was more “Salesy” rather than answering to the point and he was out. Robert loves the product and is again worried that the mechanics is still not sorted out.
Mark Aramli again apologizes for not being able to respond as there were multiple questions so he earnestly requests the sharks to reconsider so he can respond to them accordingly. The sharks remain sharks as they respond sternly that they are out and there is no room for further conversation in this pitch.
It was one of those pitches which turned into an ugly spat and the sharks did lose their cool in spite of the founder being polite and asking for another chance but was denied brutally. Mark Aramli had to leave the Shark Tank episode with disappointment.
What happened to BedJet after shark tank?
The Shark Tank episode was a rough patch, but it gave all the required momentum and curiosity to all the users to try out the product. Mark Aramli has proved that if you are good and have patience and determination then you can make it big even without the sharks.
BedJet has turned out to be one of the most successful businesses that sharks have rejected, selling their 100,000th unit in Dec 2020.
BedJet is now the world’s #1 best-selling cooling and warming bed system.
