Ready, Set, Food! Shark Tank Update

The trio Katie, Andrew, and Daniel came up with a brilliant idea to address the concern of millions of babies across the world who suffer from food allergies! Guess what? If the babies are introduced to allergen foods early in their life as early as 4 months in little quantities, allows a greater freedom of food to children.

This concept is great considering the impact it has on babies, and children who are impacted due to their allergies. Being able to bring simple sachets of these allergens into the baby’s milk daily is a wonderful idea. Let’s how the sharks react to this allergen food.

Founder Story:

Dr. Katie, Chief Allergist herself and mother of two had experimented with the method of introducing allergen foods for her son David at an early age where should find it challenging and there must be a way to get all this across to all kids across in a consistent way. She joined hands with her Co-Founders – Dr. Andrew Leitner and CEO Daniel Zakowski.

Dr. Andrew had personally gone through the experience of his own son Abe’s Eczema condition to protect them from food allergies. This struggle obviously turned into a mission to help babies and families early enough to get them through this challenge.

Why not – such an idea can be used to help hundreds and thousands of babies across the world to enjoy their healthy future and freedom from allergies. This was the premise to introduce their business in 2018, did the sharks invest in it? Let’s find out.

Did Ready, Set, Food! get a deal on shark tank?

The team starts with “Ready.Set.Food” as one word together. Dr. Katie makes the first impression by explaining the rationale to use allergen foods on the babies to get them the freedom to have better food later. Daniel explains because babies cannot chew, they have formulated a better way to allow babies to have them. Dr. Andrew pitches it to clarify the foods like peanuts, milk, and egg in powder sachets which can be mixed with breastfed or formulated milk to babies every day.

The ask is for $350,000 for 7% of their company. Kevin is the first to make an offer of $350,000 with 11% as an option and other as a debt of 8% interest for 3 years and take 5% equity. Lori is the next one to offer a loan of $350,000 at 2% interest with a royalty of 1$ per unit until half a million is paid and then go with 7% equity.

The question of awareness of this product is raised by sharks, but Mark Cuban is quick to reflect on a key point that self-education of parents will lead to finding a solution in this case due to the widespread nature of this cause.

Daniel with a pause of a few seconds to think strikes the deal with Mark Cuban. Mark also knew that this product has a large potential to do well.
